Ola drives the Banger Run 2013

The BoardPad team is still going strong.

So far Ola and her team have covered an incredible 637 miles with 10,5 hours driving time over the last two days. Visiting 4 countries along the way.

Ola gave us a quick update on her journey:

"Greetings to all our clients based in Germany , Belgium France & Switzerland, you have some truly amazing roads and scenic views. Today we are on another 389 mile run, currently driving through Italy. We've already gone through the Furka Pass which welcomed us with very thick fog, putting our driving skills to the test!"

Ola sent through some photos from her journey so far.

Starting this evening, ICSA Boardroom Apps employee Ola Patelska (along with around 30 other teams) is participating in the Banger Run, a 1,500 mile movie themed charity car rally, driving from Dover to Barcelona in 4 days to support Help for Heroes.

The task for her and her team is to take on some of the most challenging roads in Europe in a car barely roadworthy, held together with rust, dirt and many, many miles already under the bonnet.

Ola’s team's car will be based on the Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino, which they have recreated with only £250!

Ola gave us the low down on her vehicle of choice:

“Our team was on fire getting the car ready for the challenge. As it's a movie themed driving adventure, we decided to go for 'Starsky & Hutch' theme and named our team Bay City Cruisers. Now, trying very hard to convert a good old Saab into a cool looking Ford Gran Torino. The Torino was nicknamed the "Striped Tomato" by Hutch in the episode "Snowstorm".”

A brief itinerary of their journey looks like below however, participants can get to each destination by any road possible.

Day 1 - Dover to Germany

Day 2 - Germany, (around the Nurbergring) then to Switzerland (including the Furka Pass)

Day 3 - Switzerland to Monaco

Day 4 - Monaco to Barcelona (finish)

The event is entirely funded out of the participants’ own pockets, so everything they raise goes straight to the Help for Heroes charity. If you would like to donate, please follow the link below.
