Board packs are usually made up of highly confidential and sensitive information and documents that could be damaging to your company if they were to be seen by the wrong people. There have been numerous accounts in the media when board packs and other highly confidential documents have been misplaced or lost and the sensitive information has been leaked. Security of your board pack should be a high priority and paper-based packs are open to many risks. Paper-based board packs can be lost in the post, lost with the courier or left on public transport or just simply misplaced. With the use of strong passwords, high level encryption and the ability to remotely delete sensitive information, your data is still protected if you are using a digital board pack.
Although the risks of paper-based are mitigated, the use of electronic board packs have their own security concerns. Here are some of the ways BoardPad addresses these associated risks.
People have concerns with who has access to the documents. With BoardPad, access can be controlled by your Administrator. Your Administrator has the ability to decide who has access to which documents and they can also restrict the ability to print or email the documents, ensuring that the information cannot be accidently shared.
Another concern is where the data is stored and how secure is it? BoardPad is ISO 27001 certified and the data stored within BoardPad is encrypted with https data transactions which keep your information secure. Our UK datacentre is ISAE 3402/SSAE 16 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified and our application goes through extensive application and infrastructure penetration testing to make sure it is as secure as possible.
Availability is also a concern with people worrying about whether they will be able to access their documents when they need them. With two separate datacentres, the data stored within the application is highly available with disaster recovery and high resilience measures built in, if anything happens to one of our datacentres it will fail over to the other without the user experiencing any downtime. You can also control the availability of the documents and meetings and decide their access and for how long they are stored.
